Monday Mingle and Muffins

We will start with the last recipe I tried for Ricki Heller's cookbook. If I had remembered to put in the baking soda and powder, they would have been better. Overall the monkey loved them, and our little mascot absconded with several that I sent home for her grandma who loves pumpkin. I can't wait for the cookbook to come out!!

Monday Mingle hosted by Eighty MPH Mom

1. Do you sew, crochet or knit?
Answer: I theoretically sew. I am not very good at it, but I am taking up the gauntlet again this year as my mother gave me a sewing machine for Christmas. I already know what I want to do. Just have to get on the ball there. Crochet and knit are beyond me. I am really crafting challenged. :p

2. Are you allergic to any foods? Bee stings?
Answer: We discovered that I had an allergy to cauliflower when I was fairly young. Broke out in hives all over. Nothing like May in southern California wearing a turtleneck, long pants, and knee socks to make a girl feel cool at school. :) I, also, have a sensitivity to walnuts. They make my mouth tingle. If it goes the same course as my mom's, then eventually I will get hives in my mouth. Joy! My mother, one sister and I are all allergic to bee stings. Sister actually is supposed to carry an epi pen. Allergic to tavist and sulfa meds, which just causes a rash/itchies. Currently, I am undergoing actual allergy testing to find out what else I may be allergic to. Very excited to find this out. :)

3. Do you snore? Please describe.
Answer: Yes and I talk in my sleep. Since nobody has ever recorded me I can't describe it except my sisters say it is loud!

  3. Hello!

How weird about the cauliflower! And the walnuts - I love them but they make little bumps on my tongue - is it hives?? I have never even thought of that, but it happens every, single time I eat them.

    Thanks for mingling!

  4. Hi Jennifer! :) I would probably call it a sensitivity to walnuts, because that is how mom's started. I have just given up on them, which is unfortunate as they are in most baked goods. :P
