Cycles & Tides!

A very recent comment within one of my Internet communities got me to thinking again about the way women who live in the same house or have constant contact with each other seem to get on the same cycle. I had mentioned it awhile ago in another forum where it seemed like we were all going through a time of upheaval and depression. I am not entirely certain how it happens when you are physically near, but there really is no earthly way that it can happen through cyberspace. Could it just be the luck of the draw? I mean one group is about 12 people and the other is almost 40 women. Odds are that we could be on the same wave of emotions. I just don't know. Maybe somebody should do a study on that. Hmm. Maybe someone has. It will be on my list of things to research in my spare moments.

  1. Maybe it has something to do with weather or moon cycles or something. I do know that if a woman spends most of her time outside, her cycles will synch up with the moon.

  2. When I mentioned said weird cycling thing, that's exactly what I was thinking! I stopped short of getting into the (possibly TMI?) details of "cycling." I have lived with a lot of girls, in college, etc., and we always started to cycle together. I've heard it's a pheromone/hormone type of thing. But that question, the internet thing, really fascinates me!

  3. I grew up in a house that held 6 women at one point. It wasn't very pretty often. I really do think somebody should do a study of how internet communities can link up like that. In my brief forays into our local databases, I didn't see anything that would answer the question. Any of my reference people want to try & get at this?
