Gluten Free Bisquick: A Review

I have always been a big fan of Bisquick. I use it in a whole host of foods, because it simplifies my life. The monkey has always loved the pancakes/waffles made from the pretty white box. Yes, the Heart Smart is one of the ways I tried to be a bit healthier. Then we had to essentially go gluten free. Cue the sad music, because now we can't just have pancakes at the drop of the hat. It takes a bit more work, and well we have had limited success in pleasing the monkey's palate. So I read that Bisquick is coming out with a gluten free product. Yippee! Now to find it someplace local. Whoo hoo, I find it in a local store! Ouch on the price tag, but that seems to be par for the course for most gluten free products. We had the pancakes that night, and I will say that we were all pleased with the results. The batter went together nicely (we used vanilla almond milk), cooked up beautifully, and were very tasty (especially with the addition of the monkey's favored chocolate chips). We will probably be using this rather regularly for the monkey's pancake needs.

What convenience product do you miss? Have you found a good substitute for it?

  1. We'll do pre chopped frozen veggies a lot. Total convenience.
