Double Chocolate Blueberry Frozen Yogurt

So, this month the SOS Kitchen Challenge ingredient was blueberries. I got all excited since those are one of the Monkey's favorite fruits. He and I came up with a list of things we wanted to make. They included blueberry donuts with chocolate icing (fail), chocolate-blueberry quick bread (I liked it, he didn't), blueberry cake with blueberry icing (didn't quite make it to this), and chocolate-blueberry ice cream. Here we have a hit. He hasn't had it yet, but I know he is going to love it!

Dark Chocolate Blueberry Frozen Yogurt

6 ounces dark chocolate almond milk
4 ounces Enjoy Life chocolate chips
2 Tablespoons + 2 teaspoons turbinado sugar
10 ounces so delicious coconut milk blueberry yogurt
4 ounces fresh or frozen blueberries

Combine milk, sugar and chocolate chips in a sauce pan. Warm over medium heat stirring constantly until the chips and sugar are melted. Remove to refrigerator to cool completely. Assemble your ice cream maker (I used a Cuisinart borrowed from my mother). Add the yogurt to the cooled milk. Stirring until smooth. Mix in blueberries.*

This is where it gets tricky. Please follow the directions on your ice cream maker to make your yogurt. It took about 20 minutes of mixing for mine to set up. Store in an airtight container in the freezer.

Note: If using frozen blueberries, they need to be thawed in the microwave before adding them to the mixture.
